Abomination

Sin & Judgment • Both
An abomination is something detestable, especially an idol, forbidden practice, immoral act, or impure sacrifice opposed to God’s commands. Scripture also uses the term for things abhorrent to particular peoples or cultures.
Biblical Usage
Scripture applies the term to idols and idolatrous practices, forbidden sexual acts, magic, divination, injustice, wickedness, and sacrifices offered without purity of heart. It also describes stale sacrificial flesh and the defiling “abomination of desolation.”
