A Kohathite named Uriel was connected with the Levites, and another was chief of the Kohathites when the ark was brought to Jerusalem. Uriel the father of Michaiah was connected with the royal family of Judah.
Historical Background
The name is explained as “God is my light” or “the fire of God.” The angel Uriel is mentioned in 2 Esdras.
