Sodering is an older English spelling of soldering, the joining of metal by means of solder or another joining substance. It describes the work of a smith in forming or repairing metal objects.
The word appears in the King James Version of Isaiah 41:7 in the description of smith work. The Revised Version renders it “soldering.”
The underlying term is associated with the work of the metalworker. The difference between “sodering” and “soldering” is a matter of English form and translation.
