En-dor was a town assigned to Manasseh but situated in the lot of Issachar. It was near Mount Tabor and the Kishon and was the home of the woman consulted by Saul who had a familiar spirit.
Saul went to En-dor to consult the woman with a familiar spirit before the battle of Gilboa. Psalm 83:10 also associates the place with the destruction of fugitives from Sisera’s army.
En-dor is generally identified with modern Endur, a small village on the northern slope of Jebel ed-Duchy with ancient caves. Its position near Tabor and the Kishon fits the accounts of Sisera’s defeated forces and Saul’s nighttime journey from Gilboa.
