Achbor is the name of an Edomite king and of an official in the reign of Josiah. The name means “mouse.”
The Edomite Achbor was the father of Baal-hanan. Josiah’s official Achbor went with Hilkiah and other leaders to consult Huldah concerning the newly discovered book of the law; he is also called Abdon.
Another reference identifies Achbor as the father of Elnathan, who served under Jehoiakim. The sources present this identification as probable rather than certain.
