"Cain Slaying His Brother Abel"

This oil painting on panel measures H 131.2 x W 94.2 cm.  It is an early painting by Rubens, tand he figures are still heavily influenced by the artist’s experience in Italy, particularly his study of the sculpture of classical antiquity and the work of Michelangelo. 

The painting is housed in The Courtauld, in London.
