The modernist architectural design of the church makes it one of the most fascinating churches in the world. It was designed in such a way to resemble the Mesoamerican step pyramids that were built during the Maya Civilization. The interior of the church is dominated by 4 immense stained glass windows which reach a height of 64 meters (210 feet) from the floor to the ceiling of the building.
